Independent Contracting Company Managers as Motivators

By Todd Liles Independent Contracting Company Managers as Motivators

Managers and leaders shoulder many different responsibilities and roles inside their HVAC, plumbing, or electrical independent contracting company yet one of the most important responsibilities that they have to their independent contracting company team is the role of motivator.  While managers should not have to motivate independent contracting company team members to complete every individual task at-hand, they should understand that when they act as an encourager and motivator then it gives a morale boost that reverberates throughout the entire company team.  In today’s post, we are going to focus on the last two important aspects that motivational managers learn to embrace inside their HVAC, plumbing, or electrical independent contracting company team:

-Set Operational and Efficient Ambitions and Goals-

Every HVAC, plumbing, or electrical independent contracting company team needs goals, ambitions, and a direction in which they can strive towards.  Inside an HVAC, plumbing, or electrical independent contracting company team, managers and leaders plan the course of action and point “the ship” in the right direction.  But in order for an independent contracting company team members to feel that they have purposeful tasks to achieve, company and team goals must be manageable and effectively broken down.  Confidence is built when team members accomplish challenging yet feasible objectives.  Much of the time, these tasks are viable because of the guidance and mentorship the leaders and managers inside an HVAC, plumbing, or electrical independent contracting company provide.  It is up to these independent contracting company leaders to carefully and thoughtfully plan team members’ responsibilities and goals as well as ensure that they give each coworker a glimpse of the big picture and how their individual job works to accomplish the company’s overall plans and goals.  When team members feel that they are part of a well-planned mission then they can have great confidence in their personal responsibilities as well as confidence in the progress and success of their HVAC, plumbing, or electrical independent contracting company and their company team.

-Realize and Acknowledge Differences inside the Team-

Along with planning the goals for an independent contracting company team, managers and leaders must also learn how to acknowledge their independent contracting company team members’ unique strengths as each member uses their strengths to accomplish the more defined objectives of the HVAC, plumbing, or electrical independent contracting company’s overall goals.  Every team member has special traits that work as assets to their team and each member has a unique motivational style.  Truly great leaders will be observant and learn the strengths of his team members and then acknowledge their skills in the unique manner the team member appreciates.  For many people, if you discover their distinctive strength and their set of exceptional skills then you discover what truly makes them “tick.”  When leaders and managers learn the strengths and the differences in their coworkers then they have a means to optimally organize their team and a means to effective distribute tasks and goals to the best team member for the job.

All HVAC, plumbing, or electrical independent contracting company teams need a leader to boost morale and provide encouragement from time to time.  When managers work to become a company motivator then they begin to see how successful their team and independent contracting company can become because goals are created more effectively and tasks are assigned more purposefully.  Thank you for following our weekly posts.  Here at Service Excellence Training, we turn learning into earning!
