Sometimes You Just Need a Sharp Outside Perspective
Not every problem requires a full coaching engagement.
Sometimes you have a specific decision you can’t make up your mind about. A hire you’re not sure about. A conversation you’ve been putting off. A direction you’re considering but want a second set of eyes on before you commit.
You don’t need a program. You need time with someone who understands your world, has seen this before, and can help you think through it clearly.
That’s what the Owner One-on-One is for.
What the Process Looks Like
This isn’t just a single session dropped into your calendar. It’s a defined four-step process designed to ensure time is well spent, and the outcome actually sticks.
1
Pre-Call: Define the Problem
Before anything else, you and your coach get on a call to define exactly what you’re working on. Not the symptom. The real issue. This ensures the session is focused on the right problem from the start.
2
Coach Prep
Before the session, your coach prepares on their own. Reviewing the problem. Building context. Developing a clear framework for working through your specific situation. You don’t need to do anything for this step. It’s worth mentioning because it makes the session itself productive rather than exploratory.
3
The Session: Work Through It Together—the focused 1:1 coaching session
You work through the issue together with a coach who knows your world, has seen this before, and has come prepared to help you move forward.
4
Follow-Up: Check the Process
After the session, your coach follows up to see how the path forward is landing. And to make sure the clarity from the session translates into real movement. Available to: Non-Seat Holders. Growth Partner Seat Holders receive a monthly Owner One-on-One and more as part of their engagement.
What It’s Good For
- A hiring or firing decision you’re not sure about
- A pricing or market expansion move you’re weighing
- A team restructure you’re considering
- A difficult conversation you need to prepare for
- A single issue that’s been on your mind for weeks and needs a clear decision
- A gut-check before a major commitment
If it’s been living rent-free in your head and you haven’t been able to resolve it on your own, it’s worth an hour.
What It Isn’t
This isn’t an ongoing coaching engagement. One session. One issue. One outcome.
It’s also not a sales call. The goal isn’t to enroll you in a program. It’s to help you solve the problem at hand. If ongoing support makes sense after the session, your coach will say so honestly. If it doesn’t, they’ll say that too.
Who It’s For
The Owner One-on-One is the right fit if:
- You’re not currently in the Growth Table, but have a specific issue that needs an outside perspective now
- You’re between engagements and want to check in on a specific topic
- You’re evaluating whether the Growth Table is the right fit and want to experience what a coaching conversation actually feels like before committing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the coach actually understand my business in one session?
Yes. The pre-call is how. Before the session, you and your coach define the problem together, so the coaching session itself isn’t spent getting up to speed. By the time you’re in the room, your coach is already prepared. Home-service businesses are what we do. We’re not starting from scratch on the industry context.
Is this just a way to sell me into a coaching program?
No. The session is built around your issue, not our pipeline. If ongoing coaching makes sense for where you are, your coach will mention it. If it doesn’t, they won’t. Either way, you get a useful session.
What if my issue is financial?
If your issue is specifically financial — margins, breakeven, cashflow, or making sense of your statements — the Financial Review is the more focused option. It’s built around your numbers, with prep work done ahead of time so the session can go deeper into the financial picture.
Can I bring my partner or ops manager to the session?
Yes. If the issue involves another decision-maker in the business, bring them. The session works best when the right people are in the room.
What’s the difference between this and the Growth Partner coaching?
The Owner One-on-One is a single session. Useful for one issue. One decision. One moment. Growth Partner coaching is an ongoing engagement with a dedicated coach who knows your business deeply, meets with you regularly, and works through the full picture with you over time. If, after the session, you want that level of support, Growth Partner is the natural next step.
