Christmas Memories and Traditions

One of my favorite Christmas memories happened when I was about 9 or 10 years old. I woke up super early before anyone else was awake. Seriously, I think it was about 2 AM. I stumbled into the living room by the glow of the Christmas tree lights. There it was; a brand-new battery powered 4-wheeler! Oh man, was I excited!

I jumped on the back of this 4-wheeler and I hit the gas. It’s sprung to life, and I rode that 4-wheeler write up the Christmas tree! My mom and stepdad came rushing out of the room scared half out of their wits. There I was, locked into an uncontrollable throttle. The wheels were spinning, tree ornaments were flying, and I was squealing with a mixture of glee and terror. It was surely a sight to see!

Ah, the joy of Christmas. A huge part of what makes Christmas so great are the memories that we make. Whether those memories are of us when we are kids, or are the memories we make with our kids. Christmas memories are the best! The memories become part of our Christmas tradition. As we retell stories like this around the Christmas fire.

On this Christmas Eve, I encourage you to share your favorite memories with your family. It’s a wonderful tradition that brings you close to the past, while bringing you fully in the present. It’s a way of keeping those that are gone alive with us today. Telling your Christmas stories will also enhance your Christmas Spirit.

I pray that this is a wonderful Christmas Season and Holiday Season for both you and your family!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
