Whether in the independent residential air conditioning contracting world, personal life, spiritual matters, or new entrepreneurial adventures– success is a result of persistent hard work.  Madam C.J. Walker was an African American businesswoman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist during the late 1800s and early 1900s and she is said to be first self-made, female millionaire in America.  She eloquently described the relation between success and hard work in her quote, “There is no royal, flower-strewn path to success. And if there is, I have not found it. For if I have accomplished anything in life, it is because I have been willing to work hard.”  In our post today, we are going to uncover three ideas that exemplify what it means to engage in hard work:

Working hard means…

 …Being actively involved in activities that will advance and grow you-

Working hard means being actively involved in your daily tasks and responsibilities as well as actively involved in extra activities and trainings that will work to advance you and grow you in the long run.  Air conditioning contractors should work to engage in activities such as sales training, service excellence training, company meetings where sales, leads, and retention are discussed; as well as volunteer for jobs that challenge and grow our skills in the our field or industry.  When we embrace these types of opportunities we are taking an active role in growing and developing our own success, we are showing ourselves our level of career commitment, as well as showing our leaders our loyalty and interest in the industry.

…Being in-the-moment yet also actively setting goals and plans for the future-

Along with attending and showing interest in activities that grow us in the field, it is also important to focus on achieving success in the moment while still maintaining the ability to set goals for the future at an appropriate time.  This means that when we are working with a client or doing a diagnosis at a new job, we should be fully in that moment and working to achieve success at that particular job.  These small successes add up to create our growing success in the independent air conditioning contracting world.  While it is so important to focus on success in the moment, it is also important to make time to sit down and create challenging yet realistic goals centered around our career as well as detailed plans for maneuvering successfully into the future.

…Finding mentors, leaders, and encouragers that can help to ensure that you are propelling yourself in the right direction-

While our personal success ultimate lies in our own hard work, it is never a bad idea to actively seek out mentors, leaders, and encouragers that can help us along the way.  These types of influential people can help us grow and work smarter by sharing their mistakes, shortcomings, advancements, and successes as well as sharing their mental strategies that can help us stay positive and focused during our journey.  Learning from mentors is a way to boost confidence and feel like you are not alone in your different stages of growth.  It is such an awesome accomplishment and aid when we have sought out and found leaders, encouragers, teachers, and mentors that want to invest their knowledge and time into our journey.

When we understand that success comes from a consistent history of hard work then we can get our minds prepared for positive development and growth in the direction of attainment.  In our post today, we talked about three important ways that we can work hard: attending activities that work to grow us, focusing on daily successes as well as life goals, and finding mentors that can guide us along our journey.
