What Does An Entrepreneur Do?

facebook live header

Entrepreneurs are frequently defined as go-getters, ambitious innovators, risk-takers and all of those definitions are usually accurate, but entrepreneurs are also problem solvers. Right now, more than ever, problem-solving is going to be what drives your business and can be what sets your company apart from your competition.

The first thing you should do in regard to your company’s marketing during COVID-19 is to ask yourselves “What problems are our customers facing that we can solve?”.

Identifying ways that you can help your customers and communicating that information to them in a clear way that’s easy to understand is going to be what keeps your brand top of mind for consumers.

The Entrepreneur Mindset is for Everyone

Anyone on your team from a Customer Service Representatives to your CEO can have an entrepreneur’s mindset and that ambition for innovation should be nurtured through your company culture. Right now, taking extra care of your staff is just as important as caring for your customer base. A key factor in this is to have a clearly defined set of core values for your employees to answer the WHY in what they’re doing.

If you don’t already have something like this in place, it may be especially difficult now but it’s not impossible. Taking advantage of tools like video conferencing will help your team connect to discuss your WHY. Being in regular communication with your team is always vital, but it is especially important now when you’re probably getting far less time face-to-face with them.

If you do find that you need to make changes to improve your company culture, keep in mind that leading by example is always the most effective. Oftentimes people are willing to accept that change needs to happen but don’t believe they are going to be the instigator of that change so they wait until they witness it. Fundamentally, culture is the behavior of management.

Get Comfortable with Change

Lastly, it is critical that your leadership team be available to your staff when implementing change to offer guidance and encouragement. So whether you’re making a shift in your culture or merely an adjustment in the way your team does business, look for the entrepreneur spirit in all members of your team and encourage them to be innovative in this time of uncertainty.
