The newest “must see” product connected to the HVAC industry just made its début this passed Tuesday night (October 25, 2011). This amazing company is called Nest and their remarkable product—A thermostat.
Straightforward, easy-to-use, yet extremely complex at its core; this is a description of almost every electronic device that has an Apple logo and with its very close ties to the Apple world (Nest was founded by former Apple employees) the Nest thermostat is no different. The thermostat has a sleek external look yet is internally programmed to “learn” temperature setting patterns and preferences of the user, as well as predict settings based on the outside temperature in the local area. Now that’s great service!
Just as all products developed by Apple brainpower, there is great attention to detail. The product is said to save energy as well as have a positive impact on the environment. There is even an “App” for the thermostat in which homeowners can control temperature settings from their smartphones while “on the go”.
Could this be the next great product investment for HVAC independent contractors?
