Is This You?
If any of these sound familiar, this course was built for your business:
- You’re still the final word on everything, even decisions your managers should own
- Your managers avoid hard conversations with techs and installers
- One-on-ones either don’t happen, or they’re just status updates
- Team meetings feel like a box to be checked, not actual leadership development
- Accountability holds when you’re in the room. It slips the moment you’re not.
- You promoted your best person, and you’re not sure it was the right move
The problem usually isn’t about any one person. Usually the problem is that nobody taught them how to lead a trade business.
What the Manager Series Is
A six-week online course for frontline and mid-level managers in home-service businesses. That includes service managers, ops managers, install coordinators, and shift leads.
Each week, your manager joins a live online session with a Service Excellence coach. The content is trades-specific, not corporate HR theory. The format is practical. Real scenarios. Real skills. Real accountability.
By the end of six weeks, your manager will have a baseline leadership playbook. Built for the way home-service businesses actually work.
Format: Weekly live-online sessions
Duration: Six weeks
Pricing: Per company, per course
What Gets Covered, Week by Week
1
The Role of a Leader
What changes when you stop being a tech and take on responsibility for other techs? Most managers carry their old role into the new one. This week resets it.
2
Running Effective Meetings
How to lead a huddle, a team meeting, and a one-on-one that actually moves things forward. Each meeting has a job to do. Managers learn what the job is and how to run it.
3
Coaching and Feedback
How to give feedback that lands. Including the hard conversations most managers avoid. Real practice with real scenarios from the trades.
4
Accountability Without Drama
How to set clear expectations and follow through. Without turning every issue into a confrontation. Calm. Direct. Repeatable.
5
Managing Performance
How to develop people who are struggling. How to retain people who are winning. The two require different conversations. Most managers default to one when the other is needed.
6
Protecting the Owner’s Time
How a manager runs the operation so the owner doesn’t have to redirect everything. The capstone week. Bringing the full system together.
What Your Manager Will Be Able to Do by Week 6
This isn’t about theory. It’s about what changes you’ll see and feel on a Monday morning.
By the end of the course, your manager will be able to:
- Run a productive team meeting that ends with clear next actions
- Deliver a coaching conversation without it getting weird
- Hold a standard when the owner isn’t in the room
- Bring problems to you with proposed solutions, not just problems
These are the differences between a manager who needs supervision and one who actually covers for you.
Who This Is For
The Manager Series is the right fit if:
- Your manager was promoted from the field and was never formally trained to lead
- You’ve hired a new manager from outside and want them up to speed quickly
- You want to stop being the bottleneck. But you need to trust your manager can handle it first.
Who it’s not for: Owners looking for executive-level strategy work. This course is for the people running day-to-day operations on the ground.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many managers can participate?
Up to 6 participants per sprint. If you have more than 6 people who need the same training, we’d suggest either running two separate sprints or exploring whether the open-enrollment series works for part of the group.
How much time does this take per week?
One live online session per week for six weeks. Sessions are built for working managers, not a classroom. The skills are applied directly to the job between sessions. That’s where the learning sticks.
Our manager is really busy. Is this realistic?
The busier your manager is, the more this course matters. Every week, they’re firefighting problems that a better leadership system would prevent. Six weeks of investment now buys back a lot of bandwidth.
We’ve sent managers to leadership training before. How is this different?
Most leadership training is built for office environments. This is built for the trades. Real call-volume pressure. Real tech personality dynamics. Real owner-manager relationships. The scenarios, examples, and language reflect how home-service businesses actually operate.
What if we’re not satisfied?
Book a conversation before enrolling. We’d rather answer your questions upfront than have you commit to something that isn’t the right fit.
