In this week’s episode of Windshield Time, hosts Chris and Chris talk about the High S Profile in this continuing series about DiSC Profiles. The S in DiSC stands for Stable. They are known to be friendly, even-tempered, steady, and very generous to the people that they love. High S Profiles care deeply about those in their lives and will do whatever it takes to fix any issue that may come up.

How High S Profiles Function

High S Profiles like helping others. This can be seen in how sentimental and nurturing they are. Outwardly focused on others first and arae by nature, this profile type is very conflict avoidant. They prefer to keep the peace and maintain a stable routine in their day-to-day lives. These profiles are loyal and work well with others.

At first glance, High S Profiles might be difficult to categorize as they can seem similar to High I Profiles. Both profiles are people-oriented and care about others a lot. They are different in that High I Profiles care about what others think of them and have lots of ego, while High S Profiles care about helping others because it’s a demonstration of love and isn’t worried about getting validation from them.

Client High S Profiles

As a client, High S Profiles don’t want to get technical about the issues. They may come across as reserved when answering questions. This is because they don’t want to rock the boat and make anyone upset. 

A challenge that may arise when working with a High S Profile is a tendency to overwhelm the client with questions since they may not have been able to give you the clearest picture of the job ahead of the service call. 

A tip for working with this profile type is to repeat back the information as they share it with you in between questions. By doing this you will show them you care and you allow them to have some breathing room in between questions. 

How High S Profiles Make Decisions 

High S Profiles need to make decisions for themselves. This profile prefers to have various options to choose from. If only given one option they will feel super boxed in as they require the ability to make a choice for themselves.  

When going in for the sale from a High S Profile, it is best to share your recommendations as well as letting them know what other people do in similar situations. 

In Conclusion

Working with High S Profiles can at times be difficult as they greatly fear change of routine. A change in their day-to-day can greatly upset a High S Profile type. However, they will feel a sense of relief when you are able to offer your professional services and return a sense of normality to them.
