More Than a DISC Test
Most people have taken a DISC profile. Most of them walked away with a color or a letter and weren’t sure what to do with it.
This isn’t that.
The Innermetrix Advanced Profile goes deeper than behavioral style. It measures how a person is wired. What they value. How they process decisions internally versus externally. And how well they match the demands of a specific role in your business. The result isn’t a personality label. It’s a detailed, actionable picture of the person in front of you.
Service Excellence has administered over 16,000 of these assessments over more than a decade. We know what the results look like for high-performing techs, CSRs, and managers in home-service businesses. That context is what turns a profile into a coaching tool.
What the Assessment Measures
DISC Behavioral Style. How a person naturally behaves. Their communication style. How they respond under pressure. How they interact with customers and teammates. The foundation of the profile.
Values Index
What drives a person at their core? What they find meaningful. What motivates them to show up and perform? And where they’re likely to disengage if the role doesn’t align with their values.
Internal and External Dimension Profile
How a person processes the world. Their thinking patterns. Their decision-making tendencies. The internal filters that shape how they see situations and respond to them.
Core Personal Attributes
A set of foundational traits that influence performance across any role. Things like personal accountability, self-management, and the ability to read situations accurately.
Job Match Score
A comparison of the individual’s profile against the demands of a specific role. We offer three role benchmarks built for home-service businesses:
- Client Service — for CSRs and customer-facing roles
- Sales — for technicians, comfort advisors, and in-home sales professionals
- Management — for service managers, ops managers, and team leads
The job match score doesn’t tell you whether to hire or promote someone. It tells you where the fit is strong, where the gaps are, and what to pay attention to as you develop them.
How Owners Use It
Hiring
Stop relying on gut feel and resume alone. The profile gives you a clear picture of how a candidate is wired before they’re in the seat. It also shows how well they match the role you’re hiring for.
Coaching
Understanding why a manager coaches one tech easily and struggles with another isn’t always a matter of skill. Sometimes it’s a style mismatch. The profile gives you a shared language for those dynamics and a concrete starting point for development conversations.
Promotion Decisions
Your best tech isn’t always your best lead tech or service manager. The job match score tells you whether the role you’re promoting someone into fits how they’re wired. Before you find out the hard way.
Team Dynamics
When a leadership team has a shared vocabulary for behavioral differences, meetings become more productive and conflict less personal. The profile builds that vocabulary.

Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve done DISC before. How is this different?
A standard DISC profile measures one dimension of behavioral style. The Innermetrix Advanced Profile measures four distinct dimensions: behavioral style, values, internal and external processing, and core attributes. It also includes a job match score against role-specific benchmarks. The result is a significantly more complete picture.
Is this just for hiring, or is it useful for existing team members?
Both. Many of the most valuable uses are with people already on the team. Understanding a manager’s coaching gaps. Preparing someone for a promotion. Giving a leadership team a shared framework for working together better.
What are the three job match benchmarks based on?
They’re built around the behavioral and values profile of high performers in each role within home-service businesses. Client Service, Sales, and Management each have distinct demands. The benchmark reflects what those demands actually require.
How long does the assessment take?
The online assessment typically takes 20–30 minutes to complete. Results are available shortly after.
What if we want to assess the whole company?
That’s what the Unlimited Company Account is for. Reach out, and we’ll walk you through what that looks like for your team size and how you’d use it.
